Our wines on Guides
It will be soon one century since Sack family runs this vineyard (1921) now in organic culture. The property is situated in Calanques National Park. The vineyard is planted in terraces in front of the sea on the slopes of the Cap Canaille and managed in a cottage "art deco" style. Very favorite in the former edition for its 2012 version, this vintage purposes to the nose a very fruity freshness (white flesh fruits). With a floral tendency this wine is full, round and proud in the mouth. Good, classical, harmoniously aromatic.
Blanc 2011 (noted one star):
"a nice place where vine plants of Marsanne, white Ugni and clairette can bloom easily give this Cassis lighting in its gold robe. Long in mouth, tight and polished with a fine touch of sourness, iodine and humus after a rich flower and fruit range (acacia, broom, mango, yellow peach) with a few vivid green grass. Representative of its label of origin this wine will keep up its position near a tray of seafood"
"Also a quotation for the rosé 2011 made with Grenache, Mourvèdre and Cinsault in equal parts, for its perfume of fern and lemon and its strains of fruits in the mouth."
Blanc 2012 ("Coup de cœur", noted two stars)
It's quite a century (1921) since the Sack family runs this domain that produces since the start of white and rosé Cassis naming. It's situated in Calanques National Park and this vineyard in font of the sea gave in 2012 this wonderful white wine. A golden pigmentation with green shades enjoys the eyes. May be the close sea gives a iodine and salted effects on the nose with eucalyptus fine notes. Full, plump and persistent in the mouth it's also complex with spicy flowery white peppered and "garrigue" aromas. An harmonious typical wine to combine with a sea bream cooked in oven. The rosé (12,000 bottles) is also awarded by a star : diaphanous aspect, but with cherry citrus fruits and peach notes. A delicate wine for a light seafood meal.
White 2008: 15,5/20
"This wine with iodized accents offers some flaveurs of fennel, tightened, cool in the mouth with a beautiful volume, it is particularly harmonious and that should evolve very well."
White 2007: 15/20
"We already appreciate this well-balanced white which, by his aniseed freshness and its salt touches, offers a mouth which associates nervousness and consistency on flaveurs which become honeyed and iodized at the end."
